Position Summary:
Works with all the Value Stream Team members to develop and optimize advanced laser optics manufacturing processes to achieve output, quality and cost goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Continuously monitors the assembly and coating processes and responds to in-line issues.
Uses software to analyze data and identify trends to make informed decisions about manufacturing processes.
Break process development into projects
Identify project requirements, including raw material, human and equipment resources and create project timelines for under developed processes
Communicate status on timelines internally and externally
Serve as process mapping expert for the rest of the firefly engineers
Lead process mapping of standard processes
Document standard processes for entire Firefly manufacturing line
Determine critical parameters for process control given end requirements
Creates metrics to track process capability and improvement
Recommends process improvements based on data and observations on the manufacturing floor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrate exceptional initiative in seeking out problems and solutions of all sizes
Work effectively with minimal supervision
Read and understand a variety of job-related instructions and documents, including Engineering Drawings
Collect, compile and understand basic mathematical calculations and statistical data
Implement solutions based on collected statistical data
Set personal deadlines and project schedules
Develop, organize, prioritize, and manage projects and time
Document meticulously
Demonstrate and practice a detail-oriented approach to work
Identify, research and resolve issues
Work well with time and production limitations
Acquire substantial knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and products
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate knowledge and experience with optical test equipment
Demonstrate a working knowledge of a variety of database or process software
Demonstrate mechanical skill
Work with chemicals
Train employees
Ability to effectively use software tools such as Matlab, Python, Minitab, JMP, PowerBI
Credentials and Experience:
B.S. or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field or the equivalence in work experience.
Four or more years experience in the field of manufacturing process engineering. Familiar with using statistical process control or similar methods.
Training, experience, certifications in Lean/Six Sigma preferred
Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $85 - 95k annually
Bonus: This position is eligible for company discretionary bonus
