JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Inspector


LOCATION: West Henrietta, NY


These positions may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident.

Performs inspection of parts, subassemblies/assemblies, products and/or materials for quality and conformance to designed specification by visual comparison, adjustable gauges and test sets.


  • Performs inspection of metal parts / assemblies

  • Assists with upkeep of IDEX calibration system, by performing in-house calibrations & arranging outsourcing of calibration services.

  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, monitoring their calibration status

  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database

  • Uses good judgment to resolve internal and supplier quality issues

  • Ability to challenge fellow employees regarding quality

  • Ability to prioritize workload

  • Ability to work well independently

  • This job position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations. Therefore, all employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status. Per the IH&S LLC Export Controls Policy and Procedure, the employee must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident

  • Complies with health and safety policies and procedures

  • Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions


  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications

  • Minimum of one-year previous experience using computer and measuring instruments OGP SmartScope, Stylus profiler, Optical Comparator, and other machines or equipment tools required to complete duties and responsibilities listed above.

  • Ability to utilize basic inspection hand tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Drop/Depth gages, indicators, etc.)

  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) experience

  • Calibration experience of hand tools.

  • Experience with interpretation of GD&T drawings

  • Ability to interface with all manufacturing departments

  • Ability to compile data for analysis

  • Comply with the Clean Room Protocol when entering a clean room environment

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications

  • Personal protective equipment and clean room attire, as required

  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)

  • High degree of accuracy and/or alertness required
