JOB TITLE: Quality Engineering Change & Document Control Specialist
REPORTING TO: Quality Supervisor
LOCATION: West Henrietta, NY

Who is IDEX Health & Science (IH&S)?
IDEX Health & Science, Life Science Optics (LSO), based outside of Rochester, NY, is comprised of a Light Sources Group and an Optical Systems Group. The Light Sources Group manufactures a variety of visible, low to moderate power lasers and laser-based systems uniquely designed for consistent performance. The Light Sources Group offers three basic types of lasers: gas (helium-neon and ion lasers), diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers, and semiconductor diode laser assemblies. The Optical Systems Group provides the design, prototype and low to mid volume manufacturing of custom lens assemblies and optical systems.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage IDEX Health & Science Quality Management System (QMS) documentation and change control processes in support of ISO 9001 compliance activities. This position will ensure the integrity of procedures, accessibility, and organization of the QMS. It is critical for this person to be a team player, positive and collaborative, as required to contribute to the success and growth of IDEX Health & Science. The Engineering Change and Document Control Specialist is an integral part of the organization—leading, collaborating, facilitating, and supporting the needs of the organization with a sense of ownership and integrity fostering a positive work environment and a shared quality culture.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Organize and lead Change Control Board meetings.
Maintain and update ECR database.
Improve ECO practices.
Serve as subject matter expert representing ECO functions during audits.
Improve document control practices.
Serve as subject matter expert representing document control functions during audits.
Maintain document control database.
Manage release and distribution of controlled documents.
Possesses knowledge of and assure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
Communicates effectively at all levels in the organization.
Strives to be a good team player.
Detail oriented, organized, and efficient in the use and/or learning of the various QMS software tools.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to own metrics & be held accountable to those metrics when presenting to Senior Leaders
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. ASQ CQE, CQA or CQM/OE is preferred.
Internal candidates: Prior experience in quality is a plus. A minimum of one year working in our current systems/manufacturing is required.
External candidates: Minimum of two years document control experience operating under ISO 9001 standard.
Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing operation.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat

The compensation range for this position is $50,300.00 - $75,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
