SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be part of the high-performance Manufacturing Engineering team working to optimize existing processes. The Technician is expected to provide support to our Manufacturing Engineering team troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, responding to manufacturing interruptions, documenting processes, and training/assessing production staff. The Technician will support root cause investigation and corrective action implementation for manufacturing problems arising in an optical manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

A successful candidate will effectively perform the following tasks:

· Troubleshoot machine, equipment, and station issues

· Respond to manufacturing interruptions

· Support root cause investigation and corrective action implementation for repetitive manufacturing problems

· Document and update manufacturing processes

· Effectively train and assess production staff on new or updated processes

· Identify and communicate process improvements

· Determine root cause of RMAs

· Evaluate and disposition non-conforming material

· Document and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment

· Utilize lean manufacturing and 5S training

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum of a Technical Associate Degree (2 year)

· Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing capacity

· Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook

· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interface with all levels of the organization

· Experience documenting manufacturing processes

· Demonstrated training effectiveness of production staff on new or updated processes

· Demonstrated problem solving skills

· Organized, motivated, approachable, and able to prioritize multiple tasks without direct supervision

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

· General mechanical aptitude and experience with hands-on troubleshooting

· Experience repairing standard manufacturing equipment and machinery

· Experience in an optical environment

· Lean manufacturing and 5S training

· Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time with attention to detail

· Demonstrated experience utilizing root cause analysis

· Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements

TOTAL REWARDS:

The compensation range for this position is $25.43 -$34.95/hr, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $52,900.00 - $79,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
